October 19, 2011 (San Diego) –Ghoulish floats, costumed characters, vintage cars and equestrian entries are all part of the Boo! Parade and Carnival slated for October 22 at 10 a.m. The Halloween-themed parade will proceed along El Cajon Blvd. between 59th Street and Rolando Blvd near San Diego State University. The festive procession ends at Clay Park, where a carnival will be held starting at 11 a.m.
The parade and carnival are free to the public. These annual community events, popular with college students and community members, are organized by the Blessed Sacrament Parish School, which promises, “It’s wickedly fun.”
Carnival attractions include bone-chilling rides, games, food, bands, costume contests, pumpkin bowling, a pie-eating contest, a haunted pumpkin patch with trick-or-treating, and “more fun than a barrel of spiders,” organizers promise.
