BREAKING WORLD NEWS ALERT: OSLO ON TERROR ALERT AFTER BOMB KILLS 7, 5 SHOT AT CAMP

(July 22, 2011) -- Breaking news on Danmark's Radio reports that the capital building where the Prime Minister' Jens Stoltenberg's office has been bombed, although he is reported safe. Norwegian television NRK confirms seven dead and fifteen seriously injured, and the city is on full Terror Alert. Multiple other terrorist-related incidents are reported.

 

Two suspicious bags have further been found outside the television station TV-2, which are under investigation. The newspaper Aftenposten and the VG building have also been evacuated, and Police are asking everyone to evacuate the city center. All roads in are blocked, automobile traffic is being inspected and they are considering shutting down air space to flights. People are being asked not to congregate in large groups.

 

Meanwhile Norwegian News NRK reports that a gunman dressed as a policeman opened fire and killed several people at an island camp outside Oslo (Utøya), where the Prime Minister's Labor party youth section is holding its annual gathering. To save themselves a number of people jumped into the ocean and began swimming towards land; eye witness reports are streaming in now. One has been arrested and at least five people have been taken by ambulance.

It is unknown whether the two events are related.

Update 11:56 a.m.: NRK confims that there is a bomb on the island and the two events are now considered linked. At least 11 people in all are reported dead now, and 15 taken to the emergency room for injuries. Emergency personelle report that there are dead bodies, but are unable to approach until police have addressed the bomb. Eyewitness say a gun man lured youth to him and thereafter "executed" them.

Update 12:37 p.m.: The public is being asked to donate blood.
