WHOOPING COUGH CASES SET NEW RECORD: OVER 2,000 CASES LAST YEAR

February 28, 2015 (San Diego County) - The number of pertussis, or whooping cough, cases reported in San Diego County last year reached a new high, surpassing the previous record by nearly 900 cases, the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency has announced.

January 7, 2015 (El Cajon)--Two San Diego siblings may have exposed others to measles at Parkway Plaza Mall in El Cajon on Dec. 29, 2014 the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) announced today.

RABBIT FEVER FOUND IN COUNTY

 

April 16, 2014 (San Diego County) - Easter bunnies are cute and cuddly--but wild rabbits found locally may be carrying a dangerous disease known as Rabbit Fever, County health officials warn this week. The disease is carried by ticks—so it’s important to know how to protect yourself if you’re hiking or working in brushy areas.
