May 17, 2017 (San Diego) - The Padres that were at Petco on Monday night were nowhere to be found last night, as the Brewers exploded for six runs to win 6-2.  Thankfully, it’s a four-game series, so the Padres have two more chances.  Matt Garza started on the mound tonight for the Brewers against Jhoulys Chacin.

The Brewers did what they did last night and the Padres had no answer.  Travis Shaw singled in the first to put the Brew Crew on the board first, 1-0.

It looked like that was going to be enough until the sixth when Yangervis Solarte hit a blooper to center that Keon Broxton slid and failed to catch.  Wil Myers scored from first and the Padres tied the game at one.

The Brewers--and in retrospect, the Padres--saved this one from going into extra innings in the ninth.  With runners at the corners, Jett Bandy singled up the middle to score Shaw.  Orlando Arcia hit a sac groundout to score Domingo Santana and the Brewers avoided a late night with some late inning runs to take game three 3-1.

Thursday matinee tomorrow at 12:40 p.m. to close out the series.  Zach Davies starts for Milwaukee against Trevor Cahill.
