June 17, 2017 (Milwaukee) - Last night was a crushing defeat for the Padres, as they were walked off in the 10th with Eric Thames’ solo homer.  But they did get a good start, so they’ll try that approach today with Dinelson Lamet on the mound against Chase Anderson.

June 14, 2017 (San Diego) - Last night was as good an outing as we’ve seen from the Padres so far this season.  If we’re being honest, and this isn’t an insult, nothing will top it.  But today, the Padres went for the sweep against the Reds in this Wednesday matinee.  Amir Garrett started for the Reds against Jhoulys Chacin.

June 8, 2017 (Phoenix) - The Padres once again were trying to salvage a series today against the Diamondbacks.  “And for what?” one might ask.  Great question.  Well...as Diego said in the first Ice Age film, “I’ve gotta save whatever dignity I’ve got left.”  Clayton Richard started against Patrick Corbin for the Dbacks.

June 7, 2017 (Phoenix) - Last night was another bad night.  That’s what we can chalk these up to now.  It’s like a kid just having a bad day at school.  But maybe the Padres would have a good night tonight with Luis Perdomo on the mound.  Or maybe not, because Zack Greinke was starting for the Dbacks.  It’s like walking into the schoolyard and immediately being told to hand over your lunch money to the meanest kid in school (we’re not saying Zack Greinke is mean personality-wise).

June 6, 2017 (Phoenix) - The Rockies were struggling, but the Padres couldn’t beat them.  Now they’re in Arizona playing one of the best teams in the league.  Does the priest from San Diego State’s Newman Center who does Sunday masses for the Padres travel with the team?  We hope so.  Dinelson Lamet started game one against Robbie Ray for the Diamondbacks.

June 3, 2017 (San Diego) - Here’s something we can’t talk about very often:  the Padres have a winning streak.  Five games, to be exact.  But they’re still at the bottom of the NL West.  They’d try for six today with Jhoulys Chacin on the mound against Tyler Chatwood for Colorado.

Unfortunately, the Rockies kept the lead today.  Gerardo Parra started it up in the fourth with a single to score Carlos Gonzalez and the Rockies led 1-0.

May 31, 2017 (San Diego) - No matter what happens today, the Padres have won a series against the defending World Series champions.  Such an occurrence is like Haley’s Comet; it only happens once every [insert number of your choice] of years, so cherish it.  But in today’s game three, the Padres faced Jake Arrieta.  Luis Perdomo started for San Diego.  And something amazing would happen.
