July 4, 2017 (Cleveland) - Happy Fourth of July!  The Padres are spending Independence Day in Cleveland, starting a three-game series with the Indians, which is kind of ironic for Independence Day. Trevor Cahill started against Indians ace Corey Kluber.

A lot of close calls happened early on, but the Padres finally got through to Kluber in the fifth on a fielder's choice.  And believe it or not, that one run was enough.  The Catholics declared independence from the Native Americans on the Fourth of July with a 1-0 win and a series lead.

Game two is tomorrow at 4:10 p.m.  Luis Perdomo starts against Trevor Bauer for the Tribe.
