ECM PADRES REPORT: PADRES BOUNCE BACK TO BEAT RANGERS

March 25, 2023 (Surprise, Ariz.) - One more week till Opening Day, but for now, the Padres went to Surprise to play the Rangers.  Nick Martinez started against Jacob deGrom for Texas.

Ezequiel Duran hit a solo homer in the first and the Rangers led 1-0 after one.
 
Bubba Thompson singled in the third to score Adolis García and the Rangers led 2-0 after three.
 
Rougned Odor got the Padres on the board with a single in the fifth to score Taylor Kohlwey, Manny Machado singled to score Trent Grisham, Brandon Dixon hit a sac fly to score Odor, Brett Sullivan singled to score Connor Hollis and Tim Lopes singled to score David Dahl and the Padres’ five-run fifth gave them a 5-2 lead after five.
 
Brad Miller hit a solo homer in the seventh and the Padres secured the come-from-behind 5-3 win.
 
UP NEXT 
 
The Padres go back to Peoria tomorrow to host the Mariners in the stadium that both teams share.  First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. and will be one of the free games of the day.   Logan Gilbert starts for Seattle.
