April 22, 2017 (San Diego) - Great offense late in the game led to a Padres win over the Marlins last night.  They looked to replicate in game two tonight with Jered Weaver on the mound against former Padre Dan Straily.

Giancarlo Stanton picked up where he left off last night with a solo homer to get things started in the first and give the Marlins a 1-0 lead.

In the fourth, the Padres took over.  Austin Hedges hit his third homer in as many games to give the Padres a 2-1 lead.

But in the sixth, Martin Prado homered to tie the game at two, and that's where we stood for a long while, going to extra innings.

Bonus baseball didn't last very long; the Marlins made a splash in the 11th with Dee Gordon’s single that scored two and the Marlins led 4-2.  Stanton topped off the win with another homer, this time for two runs and the Marlins took a 6-2 lead.

Wil Myers tried to start a rally in the bottom of the 11th with an RBI single, but the Marlins stole a game from the Padres with a 6-3 win.

The rubber game is tomorrow at 1:40 p.m.  Tom Koehler starts for Miami against Luis Perdomo for the Padres.
