May 3, 2023 (San Diego) - The Reds evened the series with the Padres in extras last night. The Padres tried to take the series today with Luis Cessa on the mound for Cincy against Seth Lugo.
Brett Sullivan kicked off the onslaught for the Padres with a double in the second that scored two. He homered again in the fourth for two. Spencer Steel homered to left in the sixth to put the Reds on the board, but it was Juan Soto’s massive three-RBI double to right and the Padres ran over the Reds 7-1 to take the series.
