June 28, 2023 (Pittsburgh) - The Pirates aren’t generally known as a good team, so naturally, playing the Padres is a dream come true for them. Blake Snell started tonight’s game two against Mitch Keller for Pittsburgh.
Carlos Santana picked up where he left off last night with a two-run homer in the first. Xander Bogaerts cut the lead in half in the sixth with a single to score Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Bucs led 2-1 after six.
Josh Palacios added on with a single in the seventh that scored Nick Gonzales and Connor Joe hit a two-RBI single and Henry Davis singled to score two and the Pirates succeeded in taking the series with a 7-1 win.
