June 4, 2017 (San Diego) - The Padres saw their five-game win streak end in the worst way possible yesterday.  But they could still win the series against the Rockies today with Jarred Cosart on the mound against Jeff Hoffman for Colorado.

The Rockies struck first and scored all of their runs in the fourth inning.  Trevor Story’s single to center scored Mark Reynolds and Gerardo Parra.  Tony Wolters singled to right to score Ian Desmond and the Rockies took a 3-0 lead.

Hunter Renfroe stopped the bleeding with a solo homer in the fifth to make the score 3-1 and take the series from the Padres two games to one.

The Padres get a day off before heading on the road to Arizona for the third time this season.  Dinelson Lamet will start for the Padres against Robbie Ray for the Dbacks.
