FIRE DAMAGES MOBILE HOME IN EL CAJON

May 22, 2017 (El Cajon) – Crews from Heartland Fire & Rescue, Cal Fire and San Miguel Fire responded to a  call reporting a shed fire.at the Safari Mobile Home Park, located in the 1100 block of East Main Street in El Cajon at 5:30 p.m. Crews arrived within four minutes, but found the fire had spread to the interior of a mobile home.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 10 minutes, preventing it from spreading to any other structures. They also saved four cats, Heartland Fire reports.

Damage is estimated at $40,000 for the structure and contents.

Cause of the fire is still being investigated.  No one was home when the fire occurred and there were no injuries reported to residents or fire crews.
