July 19, 2018 (San Diego) - Padres relievers Brad Hand and Adam Cimber have been dealt to the Cleveland Indians, Ken Rosenthal and Robert Murray of The Athletic report.

"Brad Hand to #Indians, sources tell me and @ByRobertMurray," Rosenthal tweeted just this morning.

The trade is crucial for the Indians, who, even though they sit atop the AL Central, have needed bullpen help all season long.

In return, the Padres will receive the Indians' no. 15 catching prospect, Francisco Mejia.

Hand signed with Cleveland for $6.5 million and $7 million the next two years, with a $10 million club option for 2021.
