Broil & brewfest will benefit La Mesa Police Department Peer Support Fundraiser

August 12, 2017 (La Mesa) -- Looking for a true southern cookout without having to travel to New Orleans? The Hills Pub has just the summer broil and brew event for you!

On Saturday, August 26, La Mesa’s The Hills Local Pub will be hosting its first annual neighborhood Crawfish Broil in conjunction with local breweries. From 2- 6 p.m., foodie enthusiasts can enjoy hearty portions of flavorful crawfish prepared and prepped in true bayou-style. The Hills will also have a smoker with slow-cooked sausages, and energetic live music will keep the party going all night long.

No true community broil is complete without handcrafted brews to wash it all down. Local breweries such as Helix, Bolt, Ballast Point and Green Flash will be in attendance serving pints of fan favorites.

Tickets to this community event will be $30 in advance and $40 at the door. Each ticket is good for 2 pounds of crawfish and a 24 ounce beer. 20 percent of proceeds from the crawfish cookout tickets and 100 percent of the sales from the sausages will go to benefit the La Mesa Police Department PEER Support program. The La Mesa Police Department PEER support team provides aid for officers who have been physically or mentally wounded during duty.

Celebrate the last days of summer with a true neighborhood cookout! The Hills is located at 8758 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942.
