June 25, 2016 (Cincinnati) – The Padres and Reds got a nationally televised game three today.  What a treat!  It was also Pete Rose’s retirement ceremony (his number will be retired tomorrow), but considering that the Padres have won the last two games in this series decidedly, I don’t think they need any gambling help.  Drew Pomeranz started for San Diego against Brandon Finnegan for Cincy.

The Padres got started right away again with Matt Kemp’s sac groundout that drove in Travis Jankowski in the first to take the lead 1-0.

It stayed quiet for a while, then an opposite field blast from…the Padres pitcher, Pomeranz, gave the Friars a 2-0 lead.

Pomeranz worked some more pitcher magic in the seventh with a line drive single up the middle to drive home Derek Norris and the Padres took a 3-0 lead to the end to win their 12th game out of their last 15.

Rise and shine!  Game four, the final game of the series, is at 10:10 a.m. tomorrow.  The Padres will go for the sweep.  Luis Perdomo will get the start for San Diego against Anthony Desclafani for Cincinnati.
