April 5, 2016 (San Diego) - On their second game of the season, the Padres sought to obtain a better--much, MUCH  better--end result than their Opening Day game yesterday.

Yasiel Puig wouldn’t let them.  He hit a two run homer in the fourth inning to make the score 2-0.  Carl Crawford followed it up with an RBI single to give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead.

That was it.  A low-scoring game and less painful than yesterday, but still a shutout loss as the Padres fall to 0-2 so far on the season and James Shields joins Tyson Ross in the 0-1 start club.  The Pads have the chance to avoid the series sweep tomorrow at 6:10 p.m.
