October 2, 2016 (Phoenix) - This was pretty much just an exhibition game for both teams.  Paul Clemens started on the mound against Matt Koch for the Diamondbacks.

There wasn’t much to say about this one.  Brandon Drury scored in the second and the Dbacks took a 1-0 lead.

Hunter Renfroe wouldn’t let his rookie season go out without dignity, so he doubled in the fourth to score Wil Myers and the game was tied at one.

Luis Sardinas doubled in the seventh to score Austin Hedges and the Padres led 2-1.

But Drury hit a solo homer in the eighth and the game was tied at two.

But their season ended on a heartbreaking note as Phil Gosselin singled in the bottom of the ninth to score Socrates Brito and the Dbacks won 3-2.

That wraps up ECM’s Padres coverage for this season.  See you next season.
