September 25, 2016 (San Diego) - After the extra innings heartbreaker last night, the Padres looked to rebound. Clayton Richard faced Ty Blach.

The Padres started the scoring with some work from the rookies.  Manuel Margot singled in the second, scoring Austin Hedges and the Padres led 1-0.

But it went away in the third when Kelby Tomlinson hit a sac line out to score Trevor Brown to tie the game at one.  Buster Posey finished the job with a single to score two and the Giants led 3-1.

The Padres crept closer with Adam Rosales’ solo homer in the third to make the score 3-2.

Yangervis Solarte finished the job by singling in the fifth to score Wil Myers and the Padres tied the game at three.

It remained tied for a bit, but the Padres avoided going to extra innings this time with Myers’ single that scored Margot and the Padres took a 4-3 lead and hung on to win and split the series 2-2.

The Padres get a day off before the Dodgers come to town on Tuesday.  Game one is at 7:10 p.m.  Paul Clemens will face Jose de Leon.
