April 22, 2018 (Lakeside) – Lakeside Fire Department’s Engine 26-C “Snake Charmers” are at it again, the department tweeted yesterday.  Firefighter-paramedic Brian Moore shows off an “angry” gopher snake that he caught in Blossom Valley. #Engine26 #GopherSnake #SnakeRemoval

Gopher snakes are not venomous and as their name implies, they eat gophers and other rodents, so many rural residents prize having them for natural rodent control.  But when snakes  create problems such as crawling into cars or homes, firefighters in our rural areas are here to help.  So is County Animal Control.
