PHOTOS OF THE WEEK: GOLFER'S HEAVEN

July 9, 2015 (Tucson)—East County Magazine co-founder Leon Thompson, on vacation in Tucson, Arizona, sent in these photos.  It’s not hard to see why he’s wanted to extend his stay!

Photo 1 shows a spectacular sunset and cloud formation. Photo 2 reveals a blooming saguaro, its arm reaching skyward beneath a Palo Verde tree branch:

Photo 3 shows some saguaro cacti off the golf course fairway, scarred with holds from golf balls that missed their mark. Photo 4 shows a cottontail rabbit that appears to have lost its tail – but in fact it’s just a golf ball that landed close by.

In  photo 5, a desert storm is approaching and in photo 6, the storm has passed, revealing a glorious summer sky.
