POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER IN GRANTVILLE

June 3, 2012 (San Diego) --San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a male in a parking lot on Friars Road near Mission Gorge Road, in the Grantville neighborhood.

Early Saturday morning, at 12:24 a.m., officers were dispatched to a stabbing in a restaurant parking lot at 10450 Friars Road. Officers arrived to find a large fight taking place and discovered two men with stab wounds.  Medics arrived and transported the two men to a local hospital. One victim has been treated for his injury and is expected to survive. The other victim’s injury was more severe and he died Saturday morning at 8:27 a.m.
 
The preliminary investigation has revealed an argument broke out in front of a restaurant, where a birthday party was being held inside.  At this time, it is unclear what the argument was about.
 
The victims have been identified. The surviving victim’s name will not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. The deceased victim’s name will not be released until family members are notified.
 
The suspect has been described as a young Asian male, wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, and wearing his hair in a ponytail. He fled the scene in a green or teal colored, small sedan.
