READER’S EDITOR: BIRTHRIGHTS DEBATE

August 18, 2010 (Ramona) -- The birthright debate that Congress now wants to engage we Americans in is, in fact, a smokescreen designed to divert our attention from the real issue: what to do with 12 million illegal aliens currently working across America. The real responsibility for this problem falls squarely on those that employ the illegals--not on Mexico, not on the border leaks, and not our welfare system. Here’s why.

If we deport all 12 million illegals, the same employers will give jobs to 12 million that will come to replace them. If we could make the border fence impenetrable, and we can’t, the illegals will come around it and take the jobs that the employers offer. If the government handouts were not given to illegals in all cases, the people would still come and live in worse conditions than they currently do, because our employers offer them jobs. If we give out 12 million green cards the illegals will demand real wages and benefits, so we can expect the employers to fire them and hire the 12 million new illegals that will come. The problem is the employers.

American employers have over and over proven themselves capable of knowingly breaking the law by hiring illegals, so we can point the finger of responsibility directly at them. Our employers have demonstrated again and again that they are capable of exploiting human beings for profit, and thus established themselves as scum-sucking bottom dwellers, comparable to slave traders. American employers have shown us that they are incapable of following the law regarding the hiring of illegals, so now we must stiffen white-collar crime laws to put those that break the law in jail, and wage hefty fines as well. This is the truth that our Congressmen hope to obscure with hearings on 14th Amendment birthrights, because the employers and their lobbyists are our Congressman’s biggest benefactors. The corruption runs deep.

Thus we must demand that our Congressmen make 2 changes or forfeit their jobs. First, they must put in place strident employer sanctions including well-defined prison time for those that hire illegals, knowingly or otherwise. Second, they must pass immigration reform that gives temporary green cards to every illegal currently working here. To do less is folly and more lobbyist money on our Congressmen’s pockets. With green cards, the illegals will be paid the legal minimum and pay taxes. With green cards the illegals will be given healthcare and become less of a burden on Society. The remainder of issues regarding citizenship can be kicked down the road in the interest of solving our current problem.

What will make a difference are tough sanctions on those that currently employ the illegals, combined with a temporary issuance of green cards. But nothing will happen to solve this problem until our Congressmen realize that we will replace them if they don’t fix it. Call your congressmen, and demand that they fix the problem or be replaced.

Right on

I like this Patterson person. Wonder if he wants to be President? I bet if Americans stopped doing illegal drugs the violence on the border would go away? No, that's to simple.
