March 11, 2016 (Peoria, Az.) - The Padres’ pitching woes continued as they faced off against the Chicago White Sox today in Peoria in another day of spring training.

Avisail Garcia started things off for the White Sox with a solo homer off of James Shields in the top of the third to give the midwestern Sox a 1-0 lead.  Two batters later, baseball fans who think Jimmy Rollins is too old were silenced as Rollins hit a two-run homer to increase the lead to 3-0.

The blood kept gushing.  The next Sox batter, Jose Abreu, hit another solo homer to up the Chicago lead to 4-0.

Shields was replaced by Josh Martin, who finally ended the inning.  The Sox runs continued in the fourth, however, when Luis Perdomo gave up a base hit to Matt Davidson to drive home Rollins to give the Sox a 5-0 lead.

Dioner Navarro kept up the runs later in the inning with a two-out drive to right center that drove in Abreu and Davidson for a 7-0 Chicago lead.

The misery continued into the fifth inning.  Sox newcomer Courtney Hawkins hit a solo blast for the fourth Chicago homer of the day and an 8-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Cory Spangenberg gave the Pads some reprieve, driving a single to left center and driving in a run to make the score 8-1.  Wil Myers followed it up with a double and an RBI to make the score 8-2.  Yangervis Solarte repeated the process and narrowed the deficit to 8-3, which would be all either team could manage.

The White Sox take this one after an impressive display of hitting.  The Pads are back in action tomorrow against the Cleveland Indians at 1:30 tomorrow on Fox Sports San Diego.  The ECM sports team will have the full recap for you.
