DUMANIS CELEBRATES SUPREME COURT RULING ON GAY MARRIAGE--AT WHITE HOUSE

June 29, 2015 (San Diego) --  San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis in Washington D.C. for a talk on police body cameras, was also present with her spouse in the Supreme Court when the  historic decision legalizing gay marriage in all 50 states was announced.

GANG CONSPIRACY CHARGES DROPPED IN CONTROVERSIAL CASES

March 16, 2015 (San Diego)—Earlier this week, we reported on controversial gang conspiracy charges filed by San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis against men who were accused of benefiting off crimes that they were not accused of committing. Specifically, those crimes included nine shootings committed by the Lincoln Park gang.  The American Civil Liberties Union had challenged the charges on constitutional grounds in an amicus, or friends of the court, brief.

ACLU CHALLENGES DUMANIS OVER GANG PROSECUTIONS: D.A. WANTS LIFE IN PRISON FOR GANG MEMBERS NOT ACCUSED OF SPECIFIC CRIMES

March 15, 2015 (San Diego) – San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis wants to put alleged gang members into prison for life, based on Facebook posts and rap music lyrics that her office contends amount to benefitting off crimes.
