January 13, 2018 (Los Angeles) - Six divers from the San Diego State swimming and diving team completed the second day of competition at the Bruin Invite at UCLA on Saturday. The Aztecs had a trio of divers finish in the preliminary’s top 25 for 3-meter competition, with Alexandra Caplan leading the way with an 11th-place finish in the finals. The Aztecs were one of seven teams in the 13-team competition to have three or more divers finish in the top 25 of the preliminary round.

Caplan posted a 275.15 in the preliminary round, finishing 11th in the 51-diver field. Caplan was the lone Aztec to reach the finals portion of the competition and again finished 11th among the field’s top 18 divers.

Nicole Dutton, Delaney Gallagher, and Marie Yacopino finished 22nd, 25th, and 29th, respectively. Dutton recorded a 236.25, while teammates Gallagher and Yacopino posted scores of 233.60 and 230.05, respectively.

Freshmen Erica Sarver and Emily Reed were also in action for the Aztecs and recorded scores of 211.00 and 195.20.

SDSU divers conclude the Bruin Invite tomorrow with platform competition. Following the Bruin Invite, SDSU wraps up its 2017-18 regular season slate with a dual meet against San Diego on Jan. 19
