February 12, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego State lacrosse midfielder Harlowe Steele was selected Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Offensive Player for her clutch performance in the Aztecs’ dramatic 12-11 victory at California on Sunday. With her award, the SDSU junior garnered the second weekly conference accolade of her career.

A native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, Steele led all players with a career-high four goals in SDSU’s triumph over the Golden Bears, including the game-winner on a free-position attempt with 28 seconds remaining, which lifted the Scarlet and Black to its first season-opening win since 2014. The Aztec tri-captain finished with a .800 shot-on-goal percentage (4-5), converting both of free-position attempts in the second half.

In addition, Steele assisted on teammate Jill Haight’s second goal late in the first half during a crucial 4-0 run that put SDSU in front 6-5 by intermission. She also collected one ground ball and one draw control on the afternoon.
