March 22, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State junior guard Trey Kell has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 17 Second Team, the Association announced on Wednesday. It is the second consecutive season the San Diego native has earned the distinction.

Kell finished his third season at SDSU by leading the team in scoring (13.2), assists (2.9), steals (1.4) and free-throw percentage (.766), while ranking third in rebounds (4.9). The guard scored in double figures 24 times, led the team in scoring 12 times, in rebounding five times and in assists 19 times. In 18 Mountain West games, he led the team in points, rebounds and/or assists on 15 different occasions.

At the end of the conference campaign, both the league’s head coaches and the MW media voted him to the all-Mountain West third team.

Kell’s all-district appointment, which was voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I, marks the 12th straight year that an Aztec has landed on one of the two District 17 teams.
