Aztec divers conclude three-day event tomorrow with platform event

November 11, 2017 (Los Angeles) - San Diego State diver Alexandra Caplan posted a total score of 526.10 in the 1-meter Championship at the Trojan Diving Invitational on Saturday to lead SDSU’s trio of participants.

Caplan trailed only UCLA’s Ciara Monahan (549.40) and USC’s Carly Souza (534.30) in the 1-meter event. After Caplan’s third-place finish, there was a significant drop off from the rest of the pack, with Fresno State’s Irina Nikolaeva finishing in fourth place with a total score of 490.50.

 

SDSU had two of the four freshman who reached the finals portion of the event, with Emily Reed and Erica Sarver finishing 15th and 16th, respectively. Reed posted a score of 399.30 while Sarver recorded a 395.55.

 

The Aztecs conclude the Trojan Diving Invitational tomorrow, with the preliminaries of platform competition beginning at 11:00 a.m. The top 12 finishers in the preliminaries will compete in the finals starting at 1:15.
