Aztec divers conclude three-day event tomorrow with platform event

November 11, 2017 (Los Angeles) - San Diego State diver Alexandra Caplan posted a total score of 526.10 in the 1-meter Championship at the Trojan Diving Invitational on Saturday to lead SDSU’s trio of participants.

Caplan trailed only UCLA’s Ciara Monahan (549.40) and USC’s Carly Souza (534.30) in the 1-meter event. After Caplan’s third-place finish, there was a significant drop off from the rest of the pack, with Fresno State’s Irina Nikolaeva finishing in fourth place with a total score of 490.50.

SDSU had two of the four freshman who reached the finals portion of the event, with Emily Reed and Erica Sarver finishing 15^th and 16^th, respectively. Reed posted a score of 399.30 while Sarver recorded a 395.55.

The Aztecs conclude the Trojan Diving Invitational tomorrow, with the preliminaries of platform competition beginning at 11:00 a.m. The top 12 finishers in the preliminaries will compete in the finals starting at 1:15.
