SDSU WATER POLO DROPPED BY PACIFIC 12-7

April 12, 2019 (San Diego) - The No. 16 Aztec water polo team (15-13, 5-2) lost to No. 8 Pacific 12-7 Friday afternoon at the Aztec Aquaplex. The Tigers scored the first five goals and the Aztecs never recovered from their deficit.

Hannah Carrillo and Karli Canale each scored two goals to lead the Aztecs. Emily Bennett, Maddie Higginson and Shelby Kraft also scored. Kyra Christmas paced the Tigers with four goals.

The Aztecs scored the first and only goal of the first half with 2:40 remaining on the first of Carrillo’s two goals.

After each team scored two goals in the third quarter, the Aztecs scored four goals in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers were able to score five.

Pacific was very efficient, scoring 12 goals on 26 shots.

SDSU closes out their regular season against UC San Diego, hosting the Harper Cup on April 20.
