May 17, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State finished the 2017 campaign ranked 13th nationally in the final Collegiate Water Polo Association Top-25 Poll. It is the highest final CWPA ranking for the program since 2013 when the Aztecs completed the season at No. 10.

SDSU turned in its second straight top-15 ranking after winning its fourth consecutive Golden Coast Conference regular-season title and reaching the tournament championship game for the fourth year in a row.

The Aztecs, who are 26-0 all-time in GCC action after producing another 7-0 record within the league, navigated their schedule and finished 18-14 overall. SDSU was led by two-time GCC Player of the Year Caroline Israels, fellow all-Golden Coast first-teamer Alyssa Diacono, all-league second-team selection Kate McDonnell and honorable mention selection Ioli Benekou.
