September 24, 2017 (San Diego) - Aztecs women’s soccer faced UNLV for the first time at home this season today.  Keep in mind that UNLV is the same team that gave the Aztecs a crushing defeat in the Mountain West playoff game last year. The Aztecs hoped for a better result today.

September 22, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State opened the 2017 Mountain West season with a convincing 3-0 home victory over Nevada Friday night at SDSU Sports Deck. The Aztecs improved to 4-5 overall (1-0 MW), while the Wolf Pack dropped to 1-8 (0-1 MW).

September 15, 2017 (Lubbock, Tex.) - San Diego State completed its non-conference schedule on Friday with a 1-0 loss at Texas Tech. With the defeat, the Aztecs fell to 3-5, while the Red Raiders improved to 6-2 on the season.

September 10, 2017 (Columbia, Mo.) - San Diego State took an early 1-0 lead in the first half, but could not hold on as Missouri rallied to win, 2-1, Sunday night at Walton Stadium. The Aztecs fell to 3-4 on the season, while the Tigers improved to 3-4-1.

September 8, 2017 (Lincoln, Neb.) - Rachel Speros scored 19 seconds before the final horn in double overtime to lift San Diego State to a 2-1 road victory over No. 22 Nebraska at Barbara Hibner Stadium on Friday. The win evened the Aztecs’ record at 3-3, while the Huskers watched their record fall to 5-2.

September 1, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State received three goals from two true freshman to down crosstown foe San Diego, 3-1, Friday night at SDSU Sports Deck. The Aztecs improved to 2-3 on the season, while the Toreros remained winless in four tries.

August 27, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State’s late offensive flurry came up empty in a 2-0 home loss to Long Beach State on Sunday night. The loss put the Aztecs at 1-3 on the year, while the 49ers moved to 2-1-1 with the decision.

August 25, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State surrendered a goal with eight seconds left in the first overtime period to fall at home to Arizona State 2-1 Friday night. The loss dropped SDSU to 1-2 on the season, while the Sun Devils leveled their record to 1-1.

August 20, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State earned its first victory of the season, defeating UC Davis 1-0 at a sun-splashed SDSU Sports Deck Sunday afternoon. The decision evened the Aztecs’ record at 1-1 and supplied head coach Mike Friesen with his program-record 123rd career win.

August 18, 2017 (Pasadena) - San Diego State, which fielded a lineup the featured six first-time starters, dropped its season opener Friday night at UCLA, 5-1. The decision puts the Aztecs at 0-1 on the year, while the ninth-ranked Bruins move to 1-0.

August 12, 2017 (Fullerton) - San Diego State endured a 49-minute delay before the start of the game and surrendered a goal in the first 68 seconds in a 1-0 exhibition loss at Cal State Fullerton. Outside of the lone goal, the Aztecs showed promise, outshooting the Titans 12-4 for the contest.

July 26, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State women’s soccer head coach Mike Friesen has added a pair of coaches to his coaching staff in Cole Schmit and Cameron Roget. Schmit joins the program as an assistant coach, while Roget will perform volunteer assistant coach duties.

June 27, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State women’s soccer head coach Mike Friesen on Tuesday revealed his team’s schedule for the upcoming 2017 season. The Aztecs are set to face six teams that reached the 2016 NCAA tournament, beginning with their opener on Aug. 18.

May 26, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women’s soccer program is set to conduct an ID and a youth camp this summer on the SDSU campus. The summer ID camp is set for July 1-2, while the youth camp is scheduled for July 10-13.

The win evened the Aztecs record to 6-6-2 overall, but propelled them to a 4-1-2 mark in the Mountain West. The Broncos, meanwhile, fell to 5-9-2 and 4-2-1 in conference.

October 9, 2016 (Reno) - Angela Mitchell scored the golden goal with three seconds left in the second overtime period to lift San Diego State to a 2-1 victory at Nevada on Sunday afternoon. The victory propels the Aztecs to a 5-6-2 record (3-1-2 Mountain West), while the Wolf Pack fall to 4-9 (1-5 MW).

October 7, 2016 (Las Vegas) - San Diego State rallied from a one-goal first-half deficit and then played even the rest of the way as it battled UNLV to a 1-1 double-overtime draw Friday night at Peter Johann Field. The Aztecs moved to 4-6-2 (2-1-2 Mountain West), while the Rebels watched their record go to 10-3-1 (3-1-1 MW).

September 30, 2016 (Fresno) - San Diego State and Fresno State played to a 1-1 draw Friday night at the Bulldogs’ Soccer and Lacrosse Field. SDSU ran its unbeaten streak to three games with the result and moved to 4-5-1 on the season (2-0-1 Mountain West). Fresno State, meanwhile, watched its record go to 5-5-1 (0-2-1 MW).

September 26, 2016 (Colorado Springs, Colo.) - San Diego State redshirt freshman goalkeeper Gabby English has been named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. The Winter Park, Florida native helped the Aztecs post two shutouts to vault them into first place in the league standings.
