March 6, 2012 (San Diego's East County) -- Sprites of East County, a mother-daughter philanthropic organization, will host its annual benefit on March 24 at Steele Canyon High School, 12440 Campo Road in Spring Valley.  The theme of this year's event is "Sprites Revolution." The annual benefit includes a silent auction, fashion show featuring apparel from Fashion Valley stores, dance performances, and a delicious catered lunch.  All proceeds benefit their charities.

Sprites has been serving charities in local neighborhoods for 43 years.  Founded in 1968, the non-profit organization is made up of 240 mothers and daughters living in the area served by the Grossmont Union High School District. Since its creation in 1968, Sprites of East County has strived to instill the importance giving back to the communities where they live. In addition, the group provides college scholarships to a number of deserving girls in the community.

Sprites help in neighborhoods include providing meals to the hungry, companionship and assistance to the elderly, care for children, and donation of gifts to help people have a happier holiday. Sprites mothers and daughters provide these philanthropies with over 5,000 volunteer hours each year.
