The center for adults with developmental disabilities urges supports to give BIG on December 14-15

December 7, 2011 (San Diego) -- St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center, the non-denominational adult day-training facility for adults with developmental disabilities, is participating in giveBIG 2011. On December 14-15, the public will have an opportunity to make online donations to the non-profit. The total donation amount will be matched by The San Diego Foundation, which strives to make San Diego a better place to live, work and play.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together,” said Debra Turner-Emerson, Executive Director for St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center. “With The San Diego Foundation’s generous matching, we have the possibility of raising unlimited amounts of much-needed funding for St. Madeleine’s.”

The public can participate by visiting www.givebigsandiego.org and searching for ‘St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center.’ Donations will only be matched if made between 7:00 a.m. on December 14 and 7:00 p.m. on December 15. The public can use a Visa or MasterCard to make a donation of $25 or more. The San Diego Foundation will match all gifts between $25 and $10,000 that are made on the GiveBIG website during the 36-hour period.
