May 24, 2012 (San Diego) -- The final round of the STOP ,Stop Taxing Our Pupils, 2011 four-step scholarship process will take place at the Merrill Lynch building, located at 701 B St., San Diego (downtown), in the second floor Conference room 2 west, from 7-8:30 p.m.
Approximately 150 high school seniors registered for the scholarship. After three grueling steps, five finalists from different San Diego county schools will vie for four- year college scholarships in the amounts of 1) $48,000.00, 2) $32,000.00, 3) $24,000.00, 4) $16,000.00 and 5) $8,000.00. Five prominent San Diegans will serve as judges.
The five finalists will take on the roles of San Diego’s five member Congressional Delegation and will be asked as a “Super-committee” to balance the nation’s federal budget. They will justify their decisions, and explain how they would deal with the nation’s $15 trillion (and fast growing) debt.
