THAI IMMIGRANT WINS LAW ENFORCEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

May 24, 2013 (El Cajon)--Grossmont College student Thirada Kingphuang has received from the San Diego Police Foundation a Rita Olsen Memorial scholarship of $2,500 awarded to women pursuing an education preparatory to a career in law enforcement.

 

Kingphuang left her family and everyone she knew in the rural, teak-forest-covered Uttaradit province of northern Thailand in 2009 to pursue a career in forensic science in California.

MISS EL CAJON AND MISS RANCHO SAN DIEGO CONTESTANTS SOUGHT

 

January 27, 2013 (El Cajon)--Young women between the ages of 10 and 24 who would like to represent the City of El Cajon or the communities of Rancho San Diego are encouraged to participate in the 2013 Miss El Cajon Pageant.

“The pageant is a rewarding experience for all who participate, with the chance to win a scholarship and to serve our community for an entire year,” a press statement for the event states.

May 24, 2012 (San Diego) -- The final round of the STOP ,Stop Taxing Our Pupils, 2011 four-step scholarship process will take place at the Merrill Lynch building, located at 701 B St., San Diego (downtown), in the second floor Conference room 2 west, from 7-8:30 p.m.
