DRINKING WATER WARNING LIFTED FOR CAMERON CORNERS WATER SYSTEM

Test results show the drinking water supply is safe from nitrate contamination

February 18, 2022 (Campo) -- The County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health and Quality, is advising the public that a Drinking Water Warning has been lifted for Cameron Corners Water System located at 31484 Highway 94, Campo, CA 91906. The water system supplies water to 3 service connections, including a convenience store, restaurant, and office retail space.  Following system repairs, water sample results reported February 17, 2022, showed that nitrate levels are non-detect in the drinking water supply.

January 26, 2022 (Campo) -- The County of San Diego's Department of Environmental Health and Quality today advised the public that a Drinking Water Warning has been issued effective immediately for Cameron Corners Water System at 31484 Highway 94, Campo, CA 91906. The water system supplies water to a convenience store, restaurant, and office retail space.

MULTIPLE ALERTS: ACCIDENTS, CLOSURES & WIND HAZARDS

 

January 29,2012 (San Diego’s East County) – If you’re driving in East County, please be aware of the following hazardous situations:

 

 

  • A medical helicopter is en route to 1840 Buckman Springs Road in Cameron Corners, where a rollover accident has resulted in major injuries. The accident involves a van that went off the roadway near a fire station. The accident was reported at 11:08 a.m.
  • A bicyclist, 17, has been hit head-on by a vehicle on Japatul Road at Hidden Glen. CHP is closing the roadway, CHP reported at 10:47 a.m. The victim was reportedly conscious and breathing.
  • High wind warnings have been issued for I-8 from Alpine to the County line and CHP advises the area is unsafe for high-profile vehicles. A wind warning has also been issued in the Julian/mountain areas.
  • In Alpine, Arnold remains closed at South Grade due to repairs from a water main break.

KIWANIS CLUB HOSTS YARD SALE SEPT. 10 IN CAMERON CORNERS

 

The Mountain Empire Kiwanis Club will hold a community yard sale on Saturday, September 10 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held at the intersection of Highway 94 and Buckman Springs Road in Cameron Corners.

 

Space rentals are available to community members, such as the Mountain Empire Historical Society, which will be raising funds for the Stone Store Museum.
