DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUSPECT SURRENDERS TO SWAT TEAM IN BONITA

 

March 24, 2014 (Bonita)--On Sunday, March 23, 2014, Sheriff's Deputies in the Bonita area responded to a report of a domestic assault, at 2900 Briarwood Road, in Bonita. James Kang , 29, allegedly assaulted his wife who escaped their apartment with injuries and called a friend for help.

SWAT STANDOFF ENDS IN BONITA, SUSPECT DEAD

 

Update 4 p.m.:  A 5 ½ hour SWAT standoff in Bonita is now over. A robot was deployed inside the apartment unit just before 10:30 p.m. to check on the suspect. The suspect’s body was found inside the living room with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Members of the Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT) entered the apartment and confirmed the suspect was deceased. A rifle was found next to the suspect.

SWAT TEAM ENDS STAND-OFF WITH SWORD-WIELDING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUSPECT

 

February 27, 2013 (El Cajon) – SWAT team officers used tear gas to end a six-hour standoff and arrest Ennis Staten, 37, a domestic violence suspect who allegedly battered his wife, then threatened to kill himself and stab officers. 

El Cajon Police officers responded to a report of domestic violence at 353 Dominguez in El Cajon last night at 11:04 p.m. last night (Feb. 26), where a woman told them her husband had struck her repeatedly. Officers found her outside the apartment, suffering from facial injuries. She was transported to a hospital for treatment.

SWAT ACTION IN SPRING VALLEY

September 11, 2012 (Spring Valley) -- San Diego County Sheriff's Department informed East County Magazine that a shooting occurred in the process of a CHP traffic stop in Spring Valley east of Route 125. Several law enforcement agencies have reported to Jamacha Boulevard and Sacramento Avenue. Traffic is closed on the surrounding streets.

EL CAJON POLICE STATION DEDICATION NOV. 12

November 3, 2011 (El Cajon) -- The official dedication celebration of the new El Cajon Police Station will be held on Saturday, November 12th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 100 Civic Center Way in downtown El Cajon.  Visitors will see law enforcement displays, including SWAT and other specialized police units located in the parking lot, and tours will be given of the new high-tech facility.
