TWO EAST COUNTY PROJECTS WIN ORCHID AWARDS FOR ARCHITECTURE

October 5, 2019 (San Diego’s East County) – The annual Orchids & Onions Awards have presented coveted “Orchid” awards to two East County projects.  

 

The Ilan-Lael Center in Santa Ysabel built by Hubbell and Hubbell Architects received the award for collaborative architecture. The County’s Borrego Springs library, park and Sheriff’s office designed by RNT Architects received an Orchid architectural award.

LA MESA HISTORICAL SOCIETY’S NEXT 2013 HISTORY ROUNDTABLE LECTURE IS SEPT. 28

September 10, 2013 (La Mesa) – The La Mesa Historical Society will continue it free History Roundtable Series for 2013 with a presentation on the architectural heritage of La Mesa titled “Emmor Brooke Weaver: Pioneer Architect”.  The presentation featuring Alexander D. Bevil, a historian with California State Parks, will be held on September 28 at 10 a.m. at Grossmont Healthcare District Auditorium, 9001 Wakarusa Drive, La Mesa.

TRAINING FOR ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDINGS OF THE FUTURE EMPOWERS STUDENTS AT SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE

December 4, 2012 (San Diego)--In what is hoped will be a model for future trainings and a revolution in architecture, Southwestern College recently conducted a class called “Smart Building Technician.” The name doesn’t begin to do justice to the depth of the material covered in the class, which was made possible through a grant to UnitedGREEN from SDG&E arranged by Heartland Coalition board member Chuck Brands.

FREE “LUNCH AND LEARN” SUSTAINBLE ARCHITECTURE SEMINAR JANUARY 26


January 18, 2012 (San Diego) – SDG&E will host a Sustainable Architecture seminar on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 11am to 1 pm at the Center for Sustainable Energy, 4760 Clairemont Mesa Blvd San Diego, CA 92117.  The presentation will be made by Simi Razavian, a certified green building designer who specializes in environmentally friendly building design incorporating ancient ideas into modern buildings.
