October 27, 2014 (La Mesa) – This weekend’s Soap Box Derby in La Mesa may be the final race for local youngsters.  After 14 years, the event will be terminated unless new sponsors can be found.

April 18, 2014 (El Cajon)--The Farragut Circle Health & Safety Fair will be held Sat., May 3rd, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 500 Farragut Circle, El Cajon.

BUNCO WITH THE KIWANIS CLUB OF EL CAJON ON JULY 12

July 6, 2013 (El Cajon) – The Kiwanis Club of El Cajon Valley presents Bunco at The Salvation Army, 1011 E. Main St., El Cajon on July 12, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.  The evening will include a potato bar and raffles.  There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd, most wins most Bunco’s and a Boobie prize.  Bunco is a social dice game involving all luck and no skill.

BILL AND NORMA VERBECK HONORED FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO EAST COUNTY ORGANIZATIONS

                                      

January 26, 2011 (La Mesa)--Officials of many East County organizations recognized the contributions made by Bill and Norma Verbeck at a special luncheon eeting of the Kiwanis Club of La Mesa today at the La Mesa Community Center.
 
Bill Verbeck was awarded the Kiwanis International 50-Year Legion of Honor at the meeting. Tony Zambelli, president of the La Mesa Kiwanis Club, mad the presentation.
