September 20, 2012 (San Diego) -- On September 15, 2012, the San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory(SDYS),  was named Grand Prize Winner of BoardSource's Prudential Leadership Awards for Exceptional Nonprofit Boards. SDYS Board Chair Robert Gaan and Ann Hix, Chair of the Board's Community Relations Committee, attended BoardSource's annual conference to complete the final round of the national competition, a question and answer session before a team of judges. The winners were announced at the conference plenary session.
