EAST COUNTY PHOTOGRAPHER IS A WINNER

October 10, 2019 (El Cajon) -- El Cajon photographer Jim Lemen won second place in the 16th annual Digital Art and Photography Show at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, San Diego with a photograph entitled "Mud Run Friends." The other winners were Beverly Brock, first place, Clairemont; third place, T. Antoinette Fassel, University City and Honorable Mention Awards for Nelda Harris, Clairemont and Bill Rehm, Coronado. The show, which has the theme "Surprised by Joy," has 27 works by 13 artists. It will run October 6 - November 3. The show is open for FREE public viewing Saturdays October 12, 19, 26, and November 2, 12-4pm. To see the show outside these hours, call the church office at 858-273-1480 and make an appointment.

March 14, 2019 (San Diego) - Three East County artists have won awards in the 56th annual Lenten Art Show at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, San Diego.  Carlos Meneses, Paradise Hills, won first place, Jenny K. Ferrone, El Cajon, won second place and Sandra Seckington, Lakeside, received an Honorable Mention Award. There are a total of 56 art works by 30 artists in the show.

EAST COUNTY ARTISTS RECEIVE HONORABLE MENTIONS AWARDS AT LENTEN ARTS SHOW

February 17, 2016 (San Diego) - Rancho Bernardo artist Vita Sorrentino won second place in the 53rd annual Lenten Art Show at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3502 Clairemont Drive, San Diego. Lee Sie, Clairemont, won first place, and Tamara Stautland, Mission Hills, won third place.

East County artists receiving Honorable Mention awards were Ann Keyes and Ann Schwartzwald, La Mesa,  Anita Chateau, east Chula Vista and Abigail Kurtz Migala, Spring Valley. Other East County artists in the show include Mary Louise Neal-Bulow and Jody Abssy, Cherokee Point; Gloria Galbarith and Anita Chateau, east Chula Vista; Judy A. Sawyer, La Mesa; Susan Hewitt, Vance Komula and Sandra Seckington, Lakeside; and Gwen Small, Talmadge.

October 31, 2015 (San Diego’s East County) --Poway resident Joe Nalven won the Second Place Award, andj Ellary Brandon, El Cajon received an Honorable Mention Award  in the 12th annual Digital Art Show of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3502 Clairemont Dr., San Diego.  The show will run October 25-November 22.  It includes 28 works by 15 artists on the theme “Reveal the Peace.”

EAST COUNTY ARTIST WINS PRIZE

October 22, 2013 (El Cajon) – East County artist Marc Kitaen, El Cajon, won third place in the 10 annual Digital Art Show of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

The show, which has the theme "Visions of Peace," includes 28 works by 12 San Diego County artists. It will run October 13 to November 10 in the church sanctuary, 3502 Clairemont Drive. The juror was Professor Craig Carlson, SDSU.

The other winners are: first place, Michael Sussna, La Jolla; second place Rachelle Farber, Carlsbad; and Honorable Mention T. Antoinette Fassel, University City, and John Valois, Mission Hills.
