HUMANE SOCIETY RESCUES DOG AFTER 100-FOOT FALL INTO CANYON

August 29, 2022 (San Diego) -- A deaf dog is safe this evening, after falling 100 feet down a steep ravine in Sorrento Valley. 

San Diego Humane Society’s Emergency Response Team deployed to help just before 2 p.m., after a call from the owners of the dog asking for help.

5TH ANNUAL “PAWSITIVELY YOURS” DOGGY ADOPT-A-THON ON MARCH 24

March 19, 2012 (Santee) – On March 24, Camp BowWow will host its 5th Annual “Pawsitively Yours” Doggy Adopt-a-Thon event to help people and pups make a love connection.  The event will take place at Woodglen Vista Dog Park at 10250 Woodglen Vista Drive in Santee from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

The event is open to the public and will raise awareness of the importance of adoption from local rescues and shelters.

FIREFIGHTERS REVIVE DOG “NEAR DEATH” AFTER FIRE IN EL CAJON

January 4, 2012 (El Cajon) – A homeowner escaped her burning mobile home this morning, but her chihuahua dog, Mojo, was found unconscious and near death. Thanks to dedicated efforts  by local firefighters, however, Mojo's live has been saved.

LUCKY DOG: FIREFIGHTERS SAVE FALLEN ANIMAL IN DRAMATIC ALPINE RESCUE

September 22, 2011 (Alpine) – A dog that fell and became wedged inside a rocky, 15-foot deep crevasse in the 2600 block of Big Wheel Way is free and in good health, thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Alpine firefighters.

CAL-FIRE RESCUES HIKERS & SNAKE-BITTEN DOGS

June 28, 2010 (Ramona) – Cal-Fire and the Ramona Fire Department came to the assistance of five hikers who became dehydrated while hiking in the Cedar Creek area of Ramona. In addition, firefighters rescued two of the hikers’ dogs, that were bitten by rattlesnakes.

LUCKY DOGS: 2 PETS SAVED FROM FLOODED VEHICLE BY CAL-FIRE RESCUERS

 

December 21, 2010 (Valley Center) – A truck attempting to cross a flooded creek stalled and was swept sideways downstream in swift-flowing water at the same spot where an earlier rescue was made yesterday. At 3:37 p.m. today, Cal Fire and the Valley Center Fire Department responded and found two dogs trapped in the vehicle.
