ALPINE FIRE NAMES NEW CAPTAIN AND DIVISION CHIEF

November 1, 2018 (Alpine) -- The Alpine Fire Protection District (AFPD) recently announced the promotions of Brian Boggeln and Greg O’Gorman.  The promotions were effective on October 1st.  Both firefighters participated in a badge pinning ceremony where they were ‘pinned’ by their wives and recognized for their accomplishments by the AFPD Board of Directors at the October 16th Board meeting.

ALPINE FIRE CAPTAIN AND SAN MIGUEL FIRE BOARD MEMBER MIKE VACIO INJURED IN WEST FIRE

July 8, 2018 (Alpine) — An Alpine Fire Department crew, the first to arrive at the West Fire in Alpine on Friday, swiftly found themselves surrounded by flames and narrowly managed to escape.  The scorching flames were so hot that they melted tires on the fire engine, 10 news reports.

BODY FOUND IN BURNED ALPINE HOME

 

May 13, 2015 (Alpine) – Yesterday at 1:55 p.m., detectives from the Alpine Sheriff’s station responded to a radio call reporting a structure fire in the 1400 block of Marshall Road in Alpine.  Finding a home fully engulfed in flames, deputies evacuated nearby neighbors and check surroundings for any victims.

LOCAL RESIDENTS HONORED AS HEROES AFTER SAVING MAN'S LIFE WITH CPR AT CONSTRUCTION SITE IN ALPINE

 

June 21, 2014 (Alpine) -- Alpine Fire Department held a ceremony on June 17th to honor residents who saved the life of Scott Holland. Holland was working at a construction project on Kevin Court in Alpine on October 9, 2013 when he suddenly collapsed from a severe cardiac event.

ALPINE FIRE BOARD APPOINTS A NEW DIRECTOR, FIREFIGHTER PROMOTES TO ENGINEER

 

March 30, 2012 (Alpine) -- The Alpine Fire Protection District (AFPD) Board of Directors has appointed a new Director to fill the seat vacated by long time Director Ron Fuller. Ron Fuller was forced to resign from the Board at the February 21 Board meeting due to health reasons. At the March 20 Board meeting, the AFPD Board selected Jim Archer out of five people who expressed an interest in filling out Fuller’s term on the board.

ALPINE FIREFIGHTERS HOST “THE CYCLING SEMICOLONS” FOR CANCER AWARENESS

March 25, 2010 (Alpine) -- On March 20,  Alpine Fire Department hosted a bicycling duo from Waterbury Connecticut. The two men are riding bicycles from San Diego to Florida to raise awareness and money for colon cancer.
