BODY OF ELDERLY WOMAN FOUND IN FREEZER AT ALLIED GARDENS HOME WAS FORMER KAISER WORKER

January 5, 2024 (San Diego) – The body of an elderly woman found Dec. 22 in a chest freezer at an Allied Gardens home has been identified as Mary Margaret Haxby-Jones, who formerly lived there. According to Lt. Jud Campbell with San Diego Police, she may have been missing or  dead for as long as nine years and would have been 81 years old if she had survived.

EX-DEHESA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER ARRESTED FOR MOLESTING CHILDREN

September 11,2014 (Dehesa) –Robert Noel Anderson, 58, was arrested today by the Fugitive Task Force at his Allied Gardens home, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reports.  Anderson is charged with eight counts of child molestation between 2003 and 2013.

STUNT RIDER SUSTAINS HEAD INJURY IN ALLIED GARDENS

May 26, 2013 (Allied Gardens) – A 31-year-old man who was doing “wheel stands” while riding a Yamaha motorcycle at high speed southbound Princess View near Mission Gorge Road yesterday at 4:02 p.m. lost control and hit the pavement.

He sustained serious head injuries, though they are not considered life-threatening, according to Officer David Stafford with San Diego Police.

August 3, 2012 (San Diego) – Allied Gardens Recreation Council, Lake Murray/San Carlos Recreation Council and San Diego Event Professionals are sponsoring National Night Out Movie in the Park August 4 at the Allied Gardens Recreation Center, 5155 Greenbrier Ave., San Diego.  The movie is Cars 2 and will begin at dusk.  Arrive at 7 p.m. to be ready for the start.

HOME INVASION ROBBERY IN ALLIED GARDENS


January 24, 2011 (Allied Gardens) – A resident a 7300 Viar Avenue in Allied Gardens was locked in a closet during a home invasion robbery yesterday. According to Officer J. Jacobsen with San Diego Police, the two suspects entered through the kitchen door, one armed with a gun.

ROBBER THREATENS TO STAB CLERK IN LA MESA; 2ND ROBBERY AT KNIFEPOINT IN ALLIED GARDENS

November 13, 2010 (La Mesa)—La Mesa Police responded to a robbery at the 76 gas station at 6085 Lake Murray Blvd. at 3:32 this morning. The clerk told police that a white man with heavily tattooed arms a shaved head and plug-style earrings posed as a customer and asked to purchase some items. When the clerk began ringing up the purchases, the man produced a large pocket knife and threatened to stab the clerk if she did not hand over cash from the register.
