EXPLORE MISSION TRAILS DAY OFFERS FREE FAMILY FUN SAT. MAY 21

May 20, 2011 (San Diego) -- Adults and kids alike can enjoy a wealth of free and fun activities this Saturday, May 21 during Explore Mission Trails Day at Mission Trails Regional Park.  Activiteis include guided nature walks, outdoor recreation demonstrations, rock climbing wall, crafts, face painting, a star-gazing party, free pony rides, as well as visits with live birds of prey, reptiles and other animals, and much more.

POMERADO SAXOPHONE QUARTET IN CONCERT APRIL 17 AT MISSION TRAILS

 

April 15, 2011 (San Diego) – Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Pomerado Saxophone Quartet will perform a variety of music in a free concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 17 in the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitors Center theater. The one-hour concert will be followed by a public reception in the Visitor Center Gallery.

SILVER STRINGS QUARTET IN CONCERT AT MISSION TRAILS MARCH 20

 

March 19, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) –What could be more inspiring than an afternoon of music and nature? On March 20th at 3 p.m., the Silver Strings Quarter will perform classical, light classical and popular music at a free concert at MissionTrails Regional Park. The free concert will be held inside the theater at the Visitor & Interpretative Center.

DRIVER KILLED AS PICKUP PLUNGES 150 FEET IN SAN CARLOS

 

 

February 12, 2011 (San Carlos) – The driver, 33, of a 1993 Chevy truck is dead after rolling 150 feet down a steep cliff.  He was traveling northbound on Golfcrest and went straight through the intersection at Mission Gorge Road, crashing through a guardrail around 10:30 a.m., according to San Diego Police.

HIKER RESCUED AT MISSION TRAILS

 

January 1, 2011 (San Diego) – A New Year’s Day hike at Mission Trails Park was cut short when a hiker became injured, prompting a technical rescue. Incident Page Network reports that San Diego Fire Department dispatched a helicopter to provide a hoist rescue since the area was inaccessible to an ambulance by ground.

NATIVE AMERICAN FLUTE PLAYERS TO APPEAR AT MISSION TRAILS

December 30, 2010 (San Diego’s East County)—The Native American Flute Players, a volunteer group, will be practicing and performing in the Visitor Center Ampitheater at Mission Trails Regional Park from 1-3 p.m. during the second Sunday of each month in 2011, starting January 9th.

POMERADO BRASS QUINTET – FREE CONCERT TODAY AT MISSION TRAILS

June 13, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – What could be more inspiring than a concert in a nature preserve? Pomerado Brass Quintet performs today at 2 p.m. in the Mission Trails Regional Park’s visitor ampitheater.

The concert will feature light classical music, popular favorites and patriotic songs. A reception in the visitor center gallery will follow.
