LA MESA POLICE SEEK WITNESSES TO CRASH NEAR GROSSMONT CENTER: INJURED PEDESTRIAN UNIDENTIFIED; DRIVER ARRESTED

January 7, 2020 (La Mesa) – La Mesa Police seek witnesses to a serious injury accident that occurred at 6:16 p.m. at the intersection of Grossmont Center Drive and Center Drive.  Police also seek the identity of the victim, a white male pedestrian in his 50s who was struck while crossing the street by a 2004 Nissan SUV.

The victim suffered a compound fracture to his lower right leg and a fractured left hip, according to Lt. Brian Stoney. “Unfortunately he did not have any identification on him and we have not been able to positively identify him at this time,” he said.

MAN CRUSHED BETWEEN VEHICLES IN LA MESA

 

April 23, 2013 (La Mesa) – A 64-year-old man has died after being pinned between a car and an RV.  La Mesa Police responded to a 9-1-1- call reporting am an run over by a vehicle in the 4400 block of Dale Avenue.

Upon arrival they found the victim unconscious after being pinned between the two vehicles.  He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

ELDERLY DRIVER RESCUED IN LA MESA

 

 

July 8, 2010 (La Mesa) – A 74-year-old woman whose car crashed through a fence and tumbled 60 feet down an embankment on Aztec Drive in La Mesa has been rescued. Heartland Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the accident at 12:30 p.m. and found the vehicle had landed in a drainage ditch. It took ten firefighters approximately half an hour to extricate the woman from the vehicle by removing the roof of the car.
