September 3, 2011 (Rancho San Diego)--The Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College invites the public to enjoy its 2011 fall and winter events. Gardening classes help residents save water and money by focusing on water-smart landscaping techniques and plants. Classes are taught by professionals , with offerings for both adults and children.

August 25, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – Want to save water--and reduce your bill?
Residents of San Diego’s unincorporated areas can pick up rain barrel systems for half-price ($30.35 + tax) this Saturday morning. The system is designed to connect to a roof downspout and gutters. Residents who don’t qualify for the subsidy can buy a rain barrel system for $60.69.

San Diegans are invited to celebrate spring with a bloom of activities at the Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College on Saturday, April 24, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The College’s Nursery, run by Ornamental Horticulture students, will feature a large selection of ornamental plants, including drought tolerant varieties and the iconic Matilija poppy, or “fried egg plant”. Horticultural demonstrations will highlight the department’s programs throughout the day.

June 1, 2009 (El Cajon) - Winners of the sixth annual California-Friendly® Landscape Contest gathered to collect their prizes at the Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College on May 16th. Twenty homeowners from across the county received honors for outstanding examples of beautiful, drought-tolerant landscapes.
Photographs of the winning landscapes adorned a display in The Garden’s Plaza, and garden editor Mary James and garden author Nan Sterman co-MCed the presentations.
