LA MESA CANDIDATES SHARE VIEWS ON COMMUNITY CHOICE ENERGY OPTION

October 17, 2016 (La Mesa) — Recently, La Mesa’s Planning Commission and Environmental Sustainability Commission held a public meeting on the potential for La Mesa to form its own community choice aggregation (CCA) energy program. The plan would enable the city to purchase power from renewable energy sources and sell it directly to residents, offering an alternative to SDG&E, which would continue to maintain power lines.

September 16, 2016 (La Mesa) — The City of La Mesa announces a joint special meeting of the Environmental Sustainability Commission and La Mesa Planning Commission on Wednesday, September 21st at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers (8130 Allison Avenue).   The meeting wil be to consider a presentation on La Mesa adopting a community choice energy program.

LA MESA SEEKING VOLUNTEERS TO SERVE ON VARIOUS COMMISSIONS

August 14, 2015 (La Mesa) -- Applications are being accepted for several openings on the City’s Aging and Veterans Commission, Environmental Sustainability Commission, La Mesa Community Parking Commission, and Historic Preservation Commission.

A CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF SUSTAINABILITY IN LA MESA

October 26, 2012 (La Mesa)--Are we ready for the next 100 years? At this upcoming Centennial event, the City of La Mesa will be showcasing a variety of environmental topics, technologies and activities at the "Sustain La Mesa" Environmental Festival "Our Planet, Our Home" K-12 Environmental Literacy and Art Contest, Saturday,October 27.

This event is presented by the La Mesa Environmental Sustainability Commission and takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harry Griffen Park, 9550 Milden Street, La Mesa.

December 3, 2011 (La Mesa) -- Applications are now being accepted from La Mesa residents for unscheduled vacancies on the City’s Building Codes Review Board, Environmental Sustainability Commission and Human Relations Advisory Commission.

LOOKING FOR YOUTH TO SERVE ON THE LA MESA ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION

February 11, 2011 (La Mesa) -- The City is currently looking for a youth representative to serve on the Environmental Sustainability Commission. Applicants must live within the city limits of La Mesa and may not be more than 21 years of age. Applications may be obtained by accessing the City of La Mesa website, www.cityoflamesa.com or from the City Clerk’s office in La Mesa City Hall, 8130 Allison Avenue, during normal business hours.
