POLL: CARMAKERS' SUPPORT FOR CLEAN CAR ROLLBACKS ALIENATES CUSTOMERS

January 29, 2020 (Sacramento) --  A new poll suggests carmakers that support the Trump administration's attempt to roll back clean-car emission standards may be undermining their standing with their customers. Toyota, General Motors, Fiat Chrysler, Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, and Mitsubishi support the feds in a lawsuit to prevent California from establishing tougher emissions standards than those set by the federal government.

Consumer urged to take immediate action 

October 22, 2014 (Washington D.C.) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration urges owners of certain Toyota, Honda, Mazda, BMW, Nissan, and General Motors vehicles to act immediately on recall notices to replace defective Takata airbags. This is the latest in a series of recalls that now span from 2001 to 2013.

SDG&E JOINS ENERGY DEPARTMENT’S WORKPLACE CHARGING CHALLENGE

 

Challenge Launched to Support and Expand Workplace Charging Availability for U.S. Employees

February 2, 2013 (Washington, D.C.)-- San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) is one of 13 major U.S. employers and eight stakeholder groups to join the U.S. Department of Energy’s new Workplace Charging Challenge to help expand access to workplace charging stations for American workers across the country. In a speech at the Washington Auto Show today, Energy Secretary Steven Chu outlined the new initiative, which aims to expand the availability of workplace charging, increasing the convenience of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) and providing drivers with more vehicle charging options.

RACING VEHICLES CRASH ON I-8, INJURIIES INCLUDE CHILDREN

January 5, 2013 (San Diego’s East County) –a white KIA  SUV and a dark red Nissan sports car racing at speeds over 100 mph crashed into the center divider on I-8 west near College Avenue around 9:40 p.m. last night.   California Highway Patrol also seeks a third vehicle, a white sedan, seen fleeing the scene that may also have been racing.

The eyes of the world will once more turn to Tijuana, truly a mosaic of Mexico, and discover what creativity and courage has led them to create. There’s no doubt, they are bound for greatness.

July 13, 2011 (Ramona) --Many vehicles and other items will go to the highest bidder at the County’s public auction in Ramona on Saturday, July 16.

Expect a surprising range of surplus government property from the County and other local agencies. Vehicles and equipment will include Ford Expedition SUVs; a  mobile command center bus; 35-passenger school busses; a Caterpillar backhoe tractor; a horse trailer; flatbed trailers; a forklift; Ford, Nissan and Honda sedans; pickup trucks; semi-trucks; golf carts; generators; computers and wheelbarrows.
