CA TO GET $582 MILLION TO MAKE HOMES MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT

August 14, 2023 (San DiegA black box with a circular design on itDescription automatically generatedo) --Starting next year, low and middle-income families in California are expected to be able to apply for up to $14,000 in grants and rebates to make their home more energy-efficient. The U.S. Department of Energy has just released guidelines that allow California to receive $582-million from President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.

January 30, 2013 (San Diego)--To initiate implementation discussions about Proposition 39 passed by the voters, Senate Appropriations Chair Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) convened the Subcommittee on Fiscal Oversight and Bonded Indebtedness in San Diego on Friday, January 25, Joining Senator De León on the dais were Senate Appropriations Committee member Ricardo Lara (D-Long Beach) and San Diego representatives Senator Marty Block, and Assembly members Toni Atkins and Ben Hueso. Panelists from education, labor, business and environmental organizations outlined pitfalls to avoid when spending the more than $2 billion in energy efficiency funds generated by the initiative.

SDG&E PRESENTS $71k CHECK FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN NEW POLICE STATION

 

August 24, 2011 (El Cajon) -- At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, August 23rd, San Diego Gas & Electric representatives presented a sizeable check to the El Cajon City Council. The check for $71, 340.00 was for the City’s hard work and leadership in energy efficient building for the new El Cajon Police Station.

“Reduce then Produce” part of San Diego Summer of Energy Independence

July 26, 2011 (San Diego) — San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced today a new citywide program that provides special savings on home energy efficiency upgrades and solar energy installations. It's all part of the San Diego Summer of Energy Independence. The program is now under way; to participate, homeowners must sign up by October 20, 2011.
